UPGRADES IN 2005
If this is the first time you've visited the Odyssey of Hyrule website or maybe you're returning after a long time, then I welcome you and suggest you take a moment to read about these new updates and changes that I have made to the site beginning in January of 2005. This site is an upgrade of the previous version and there have been many drastic modifications to navigation, and access to the vast amount of information contained within this site. The site has been upgraded to accomodate the growing market of broadband use while still allowing Dail Up users to access the content.
You should take note that on the left side of the site there is a new Navigation Menu Panel. This allows for the links to each section to be displayed on the home page without cluttering the home page with a lot of links. Simply click on the main Tab like "GAMES" or "SPECIAL FEATURES" to reveal more links that will connect you to the various articles on the site. When you click on a link in the Navigation Panel the content will load in a window next to the Navigation Panel. You'll want to periodically return to the site and check the Navigation Panel for new sections that have been added.
If you see the message that says, "If you are seeing this message, you need to upgrade your browser to view this part of the site because this site uses a programming language which is not supported by your browser. Download Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, Netscape Navigator 4.7, Opera 7, FireFox 1.0 or more recent. You will enjoy this site a whole lot more! Go to www.download.com, www.mozilla.com, or www.microsoft.com to get the browser for free." then simply follow those instructions and you will be able to properly see the rest of the site. This only seems to occur on Beta versions of FireFox.
The News window contains news and updates related to Zelda or Nintendo, or the The Odyssey of Hyrule Legendary Edition. Simply click on any link in the News Window to bring up that page and read more about the update. If the text is too tiny for you to read inside the news window. Simply click "ENLARGE" in the upper left and corner of the news window to expand the content for easier viewing. You can always reduce the news window back to its original size by clicking "MINIMIZE." If there is a scrollbar at the bottom of the News Window for left-right scrolling, this is due to an unsupported HTML command extension in your browser. Upgrade to the latest version to revolve the scroll issue.
Music can be listened to by clicking on the Music Bar above the News Window. It contains music in both MIDI and MP3 formats which are universally compatable. When you click on a song in the Music Bar it may launch your primary default Audio Player on your PC, or it will load directly in your web browser's multimedia player. Occasionally on some browsers or set ups, the news window vanishes and a music console will appear in that window. If this happens and you are done listening to the song, simply either click on the "Refresh" button on your browser or one of the articles on the left side in the Navigation Panel. Some browsers may occasionally cause the links to become unclickable after loading music. Just simply press "Refresh" and this is resolved. It is not recommended that you play MP3 or Video content on 56k Dailup access unless you are willing to wait for the content to load.
Video Gamer X is contantly working to improve the site and make visitors experience more enjoyable.
